Everybody knows that Brazil has an immense potential to develop its port sector, with more than 40 cities apt to receive ships of loads and great boats. And, as the world economy scene has helped us, the growth perspective for the Country’s ports is excellent.
Know, now, which are the cities that present port structure: |
IN CEARÁ
Fortaleza
With the intention of to improve the productivity and to dispute market in northeastern port sector, who encloses important complexes as Cabedelo, Pecém and Suape, the Port of Fortaleza invested almost R$ 25 million in infrastructure improvements in the last months.
Among the main reinforcements for the terminal managed by the Ceara’s Docks Company (CDC) are the Integrated Center of Attendance inauguration, the Port’s commercial wharf structural reinforcement and recovery and the beginning of the superderrick Mobile Harbour Cranc (MHC) operation, this last one acquired with mount of money from private sector. The expectation is that the load movement in Fortaleza grows about 10%.
Beyond the new features, the northeastern port counts on a series of reorganization and modernization workmanships throughout the wharf. Project that aims at to integrate the attendance to the customers and users of the Port, the Integrated Center of Attendance (CIA) makes use of 3,5 thousand m² of construction and must congregate, in only one space, departments of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Secretary of Agriculture, Port Guard, the Secretary of the Treasure, port operators, the Merchant Navy, the Receita Federal, the National Agency of Sanitary Monitoring (Anvisa), the Regional Police Station of Trabalho (DRT) and the Ibama.

The process is still in progress, but the Port of Pécem already is one of the best of the country.
IN RIO GRANDE DO NORTE
Natal
The Port of Natal works with cooled loads, fishes and fruits, sugar, wheat and containers. Since 1997, with the Bicuda Rock withdrawal, that was in Port’s entrance, and with the dredging of Rio Potengi, the draught went up from 7,5 for the current 10 meters, attracting new investors and consolidating direct routes from Rio Grande do Norte to European countries. Today, they are three mooring cradles and two in final phase of planning.
HIGHWAYS
Five types of highways exist in Brazil, they are:
Radial highways: BR-0xx - (highways that leaves from the federal capital in direction to the extremities of the country)
Longitudinal highways: BR-1xx - (highways that cross the country in North-South direction)
Transversal highways: BR-2xx - (highways that cross the country in East-West direction)
Diagonal highways: BR-3xx - (highways that can present two ways of orientation: Northwest-Southeast or Northeast-Southwest)
Linking Highways: BR-4xx - (highways that are presented in any direction)
All they, of course, present excellent conditions for load draining from any part of the country. Either for work or leisure, their planning and pavement allow trips for all the nacional territory in a comfortable and safe way. Know more about the Ceará and Rio Grande do Norte’s highways.
Ceará counts on 10,657.9 km of state highways, which 5,767.6 km is paved and 4,890.3 not-paved. The total extension of the road mesh, including municipal, state and federal highways, is 53.325.4, according to Department of Constructions, Highways and Transports (DERT).
